If the PA indeed goes for such an option it would be an act of utter foolishness. They will accomplish a state but in name only. Palestinian leadership is completely ignoring the downside. Up till now Israel has been carrying on with certain obligations that benefit the PA such as tax collections, stable currency, water distribution and other tangibles that, if negatively affected, would devastate the WB since the PA has no infrastructure of its own. If Palestine becomes a state Israel would not need to keep up with any more obligations that exist under the rules of occupation. Not that occupation is that great but this is going the wrong way. A negotiated formula would benefit both sides. A unilateral declaration will destroy all the goodwill between Israel and PA that has been built over the last few years. Beware of what you wish for.
