Without Diaspora there wouldn't be Israel. True, but not because of your 'self important' reasons. Jews have been in the Diaspora for close to 2000 years and have always dreamt of returning to Zion. Some like Rambam and Yehuda Halevi ? both erudite Rabbis and devoutly religious - came back to be buried there and some, much later, came out of this Diaspora to establish modern Israel. Others like you tried and failed because of the haughty, holier-than-thou Israelis. But these holier-than-thou Israelis have changed the way we view ourselves. They have added much self respect to all of us who aren?t there. They have also shown their survival skills as well as economic savvy and technical ingenuity. Mr. Buffet invested in Israel because of pure capitalistic motives. He, however, does not see himself as the savior of Israel. Neither do Microsoft, Motorola and Intel among others. They all see themselves as smart investors, which they are. I see you as a smart investor. I hope you can too!
