Doing reserve army duty, I found myself guarding Palestinian prisoners. Although it was no picnic for them, it certainly was not that terrible. They made their own food, had their own committees, recognized by the camp authorities, to whom they had regular access, and were never mistreated. They received visits and food parcels from the Red Cross, unlike Gilad Shalit.They were given 'solitary' for offences, but never beaten. The only violence I saw perpetrated, was when a prisoner was killed by one his own.
