But I pressed: Israel is a member state of the UN and was proclaimed based on UN resolutions. Don't you think it has the right to exist and the Jewish people has the right of national self-determination and independence, and Israel is their way of exercising this right? No, Israel is a fact, was the reply. Thus, I concluded, out loud: So, if next year the Arabs decide to wipe Israel off the face of earth that would be OK and Israel will not be a fact any more. The response from the "Palestinian peace activists", as you call them, was: right.
