    you can try to deny that the temple stood there in the 1st place as well as the jewish history in this land going back 2000 years before the rise of islam, but it won't hold against any serious academic scrutiny anywhere. just remember that the jews were dispersed out of jerusalem against their own will post year 70 C.E. at the time the city was the "center of their universe", at least as much as mekka has been for muslims. the longing & expectation to one day return was a live thing rooted in something solid & real. there's no fabrication. ask the greek about their connection to ancient greece & athens or the italians about rome (which isn't that ancient in comparison) & try to deny them any of it. whoever lived in paris before the french made it into what it is, if "they" existed at all, aren't around making any claims, so your allegory isn't worth much. not everybody on the jewish side denies you your part of the claim in jerusalem. but it's you guys who are "newcomers".
