Fallacy Israel has anything to do with blocking nuke free ME. Nuclear-armed Pakistan already prevents that, and Paks admit transferring nuclear technology to Iran. Will virtually certainly transfer its nuclear weapons technology to other muslim countries. So Israel has zero incentive to join NPT, in view of the lax enforcement which allowed NPT signer Iran to progress a weapons program, and NPT signers Germany, Netherlands and UK to illegally transfer EURATOM technology to Pakistan in the 1st place. If Israel signed NPT in 1970, all of the above would still have occurred anyway, and Israel would be defenseless, without any nuclear deterrence whatsoever. Had Israel signed NPT in 1970, Egypt and Syria would have attacked Israeli cities with mustard gas (used against Yemen in 60's) in Yom Kippur War, Saddam Hussein would have attacked Tel Aviv with nerve-gas armed SCUDs in 1991 1st Gulf War, and Holocaust proves nobody would have done anything about it. So, Israel must defend itself.
