As a former USAF Intelligence Specialist (SAC 1966-70 & 7th AF, Saigon 1970-71) I am familiar with military campaign pplanning and targeting. Given the international political and economic (OIL) exigencies and our own upcoming national election(s)- can we really sit idly by while the mullahs obtain a meaningful nuclear capability? Granted Bush,Cheney, Rumsfeld & Co. made a grievous mistake in upsetting the old "balance of Power" in the region by taking out Saddam as well as the Taliban in Afghanistan (where we should have concentrated our military might). However, now that we are committed, we cannot allow Iran to become the preeminent military power in the region and/or make good on its very real threats toward Israel (our only REAL ally in the region).
