Those of you who would deny one the basic freedoms that so many brave soldiers have fought and died to protect should remain silent, for you do not deserve liberty or the right to express your own views while attempting to deny the rights of others. And those who still fear freedom must learn that to hear the voices of those with whom you differ is what gives you the opportunity to debate their points and effect change, while if you push them into the dark shadows and back alleys with censorship, you only hurt your own position and reinforce theirs. This poor man has been jailed for daring to exercise his right as a free man to openly express his views and speak his mind and was persecuted for not following in step with the jack booted thugs of censorship. So while I do not agree with much if anything that Irving says, I must defend his right to express those views no matter how abhorrent they may be in order to ensure my own rights are not similarly infringed.
