    I never thought I would agree with Tzipi Livni but there is a first for everything. Sadly, what is not a first is Israel actually doing something intelligent. Israel has established a clear pattern: if there is a chance to do something sensible or intelligent then do something utterly stupid instead. It is a sign of the dysfunction at work in Israeli society that this ridiculous and racist oath could not only be considered in the first place but be voted through. Israel does not only give Jews a bad name it is its own worst enemy. Grasping defeat from the jaws of victory still.
