Well here we go - the true colors of long standing antisemitism in the state department rears its well known ugly head. Burns going off about the US needing to put pressure on both sides. Umm - OK--so where is the "pressure" on the Palestinians? And why are we again seeing this attempt at some sort of moral equalizing between Israel and an ungoverned corrupt group containing all kinds of terrorists? And what about this "contiguous" state crap? Israel isn't under any obligation to give up territory for that. As far as "daily humiliation of occupation"--Burns is on some sort of political hallucinogens. Gaza isn't "occupied" -- except by Hamas--- and its a horrible pit. The West Bank is doing just fine - under Israeli protection from Hamas and like minded organizations. As a reminder, the UN resolutions pertaining to the territories describe them as "disputed" and not "occupied" -- big difference. can we just gut the state department and start over? Please?
