Our Knesset, bless its heart, is a remarkably democratic instution. It has been populated by many who functioned diligently and went on to great things, also by gamblers, folk who vote twice (instead of once), several who bandied around imaginary academic degrees, even members of crime families, not to speak of those who turned out to be frauds. That's fine, unavoidable in a democracy, but heaven forbid that there should be no means of redress for its motley decisions.
