and say that these killing sprees would not occur if you had proper controls so then there would be no need to have firearms in schools. More then 9000 people were murdered by firearms this year in the US. If people find this acceptable, so be it. I don't - and I think it is a red herring to say that the situation is due to cultural influences solely and not to the ready availability of firearms. Neither one is solely to blame but in the UK where we have our fair share of mentally disturbed people with the same access to a culture of violence, we seem to have between 50 and 100 such deaths a year. The only way one can account for a difference of almost 9000 deaths is to look at how the two countries differ and the answer is glaringly obvious!
