one interesting thing to observe in the discourse of this article from the 'moderate' haaretz is the notion that UN security council resolutions are there to be 'adopted', or not. SC Resolutions are in fact orders, and israel is always very keen to stress that this is the case when tose resolutions are aimed at other parties (e.g. the disarmament of hezbollah), but less keen when it comes to themselves (e.g. 194, the right of palestinian refugees to return, or 236 the requirement that israel withdraw from territories occupied in 1967, including the golan heights and Sheeba Farms).
