The left are a bunch of ideologists and they put ideology above practicality so it fails. The right are more sceptical and don't just say peace at any price so try negotiate a better deal. If the right negotiate it and do manage to get a deal the left will not say no we don't think you have been generous enough they will just be happy a deal has been done. In this case Abbas is the problem because he is the one who for the last 4 years has been dreaming up excuse after excuse to avoid talking but if course everybody loves to hate Bibi and think of the palestinians are innocent victims. Bibi is reaching out to Abbas calling him to have unconditional talks but he is refusing. If Obama was serious rather than having Kerry committing about $100 million to jump start the palestinian economy he would say to him straight YOU WANT ANY AMERICAN MONEY YOU WILL TALK UNCONDITIONALLY NOW. Tell him that not only American money will stop flowing but he will all recommend other countries to do the same to force Abbas to talk. Once he does get to the negotiating table then say to both him and Bibi you talk and if talks break down because one side is not taking things seriously enough I will tell the world who is responsible for it. If Abbas thinks Obama is going to tell the whole world he is responsible for the break down because he was not taking things seriously then now he is no longer the victim in anybodies eyes and that cost him essential support.
