That adequate capabilities for fighting forest fires would be somewhat of a priority. Letting them burn, or just trying to minimize them with local firefighter equipment - one would think - would be unthinkable. And excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but there should be a national fund to provide monies for fighting forest fires, or any other disaster/contingency, that is readily available for immediate release by the government when the situation warrants.
