Very interesting contributions from Citizen of the Earth, Ben Gurion, Yaakov, Ibrahim, Daniel, Dave and others. They go right to the heart of the whole conflict. Ben Gurion tries hard to come up with pragmatic solutions, but even he is not able to hide that a Jewish democracy is a democracy for Jews and ultimately excludes non-Jews. I agree with Citizen of the Earth that the only true democratic state is one, where every citizen is equal irrespective of race, sex, creed or political conviction and where demographics has become meaningless. This is the ideal solution, not only for Israel/Palestine, but also for countries like Lebanon. It is possible to make a constitution, which guarantees equal rights for all and at the same time affirms Israel's/Palestine's unique Jewish, Islamic and Christian heritage.
