You and I share exactly the same viewpoint on a very basic level. However, the fact that the Palestinians voted in Hamas is not necessarily an indication that they support terrorism, murder, and not negotiating with Israel. Hamas for the Palestinians was above all else an entity that provided an alternative to the corrupt Palestinian Authority. Just because Yasser is gone doesn't mean everything is fine. The corruption continues and the legacy of stolen monies and no building of a society, economy or infrastructure, lingers on. Naturally one would immediately assume that the entire Palestinian population wants terrorism and murder against Israel. However it is also a strong possibility that they want immediate everyday change in their situation. The entire Western world continues to supply the Palestinians with money and support but nothing meaningful gets done. If Hamas steps up to the plate and implements real positive changes for the people, then opinions may change.
