Alas, a talented man repeats the line of the Israeli left without understanding that basing Israel's legitimacy on a UN resolution no longer works. First, that partition resolution is under attack as immoral and illegtimate. Second, the green line pre-67 borders go beyond the UN resolution. Third, what the UN gives, the UN can take away. Fourth, it ignores the pro Jewish Mandate provisions of the League of Nations. Preferable to state what we believe with all our heart and mind: the land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. Yes, the ultimate reason is religious. There is nothing to be ashamed of in this claim. Yes, many will not like it, but ultimately they will understand it, and we can move on to discuss more productive matters such as the nature of the autonomy to be given to the Arab settlers and their descendants living in our land.
