the way to end the dispute in the Holy Land was to establish a nation-state of the Jewish people and a nation-state of the local Arab people (at that time the Palestinians refused to see themselves as a separate people). The Arab world since has done all that it could to eliminate the nation-state of the Jewish people and consider the establishment of Israel as nakba (catastroph). The Arab members of Israel's Knesset (parliament) still think that democratic Israel in which they are equal citizens under the law, its very existence, is a catastroph and should be eliminated. This is obviously not the attitude with which to reach peace between Arab and Jew in our shared country.
