The Likud addled mind of Olmert has been engaged in a rear guard action for an end game that can only be described as a pthological flight from reality.Thinkg that he can impose borders on the palestinians with the worlds approval,is one more flight from reality that is plaguing this region. No progress can be made untill Israel accepts the reality that the only end game that will pass is one based on Taba -geneva, all else is delusion. For the sake of non vital assets like Ariel Olmert is denying israel options to attain much needed assets that only come from working out a deal with Abbas. The passive aggressive approach of Olmert has granted hamas free victories.Their present strength and inclusion in the govt is a direct result of Olmerts policies towards Abbas, and now provide him the excuse to do nothing. The only hope here is that Hamas will destroy the mecca agreement in a frenzy of rabid mania, and so not let Olmert off the hook with Abbas.
