2006 was about the military intelligence, the training, deployment and supplying of reserve forces, first and foremost, and in a distant second place, the decisions made by Amir Peretz, Olmert & co. After all the panels, findings, and corrections made at the IDF, it is probably much more competent as an army, and much better prepared. Likewise, Iron Dome is better tested, operational, deployed; (not so Magic Wand). But Netanyahu is even worse than Olmert in decision-making. Barak isn't guarantee of finishing well what is started. Shaul Mofaz should play a constructive role in defense. However, the issue is the IDF, not the political leadership alone (which is dismal these days in Israel).
