Travel industry sources say few Israelis have canceled but few are making new reservations. If they’re flying to Europe, it’s to the east.09:38 28.11.15 | 0 comments
Do we all have such a short memory? Olmert said from the beginning that his response to Hezbollah attack on Israel would be "limited but painful". The original purpose was limited to making Lebanon feel the consequences of allowing Hezbollah to control the south. If he tried to accomplish more, it was only because John Bolton miraculously prevented France and Russia from imposing "peace" on Israel, thus gaining him much more time than he expected. If there were a ceasefire today, Israel would already be be in a much more secure position than before the war: 1. Hezbollah no longer entrenched across the border 2. IDF in control of S. Lebanon until multinational force deploys. 3. World opinion shifted firmly to disarming and disbanding Hezbollah. 4. Lebanon with a strong incentive to take control of South. 5. Syria and Iran exposed as impotent blowhards. Olmert is not a miracle worker, but he has competently performed his job, and we can't ask for more than that.
