You need several years to buy new planes. During the 2006 lebanon war a lot of israel's forest was wiped out from fires from rockets and it showed how weak israel's system was. There was a report in 2007 documenting this sent to olmert's govt. In 2007 there were fires and fire officials were begging olmert for the right planes and fire resistant materials. Why are you blaming bibi who gave more money to the resources. Before the fire his govt was looking to take out the responsibility from interior and put it under the public security admin and restructure it. They just a few months ago gave another 100 million. While in olmert's govt there was a huge fire in the lebanon war that showed how inadequate the system was yet olmert's govt at the time did nothing. That is the time right after the crisis. Then there was a report and a fire the next year and israel didn't have the right planes or resperants to fight fires and yet olmert still did nothing. Bibi became PM in april 2009. Olmert was in office twice as long. What do you think planes just appear overnight. The time to have solved it was right after the lebanon war in 2006. If a competent govt was in place then they would have reacted to the crisis. These planes aren't cheap california during their huge fire had one big plane to fight a big fire.
