Well, I could start by observing,.."look at the drastic action the Jews have been driven to by the murderous mashooginna arabs!" and make excuses for the Israelis, and CARE about the Israelis in the same way the world cares about, and makes excuses for, the palestinians. it's a matter of whose side you are on I guess. I know that certain political beliefs fall into the category of religious zeal. as such, these beliefs are not influenced by logic or reason from the opposite camp. much is at stake, ego-wise. the left needs to protect, not others, but the self-image of goodness and rightousness that goes along with thier views. nothing ever actually gets accomplished except division, emnity, and the satisfaction of pointing out perceived evil in others, but the payoff is that wonderful image of the self as "good", which, in the End...but who am I to judge? it doesn't sound like Torah carries much weight in your eyes.
