    the e-1 project has been on hold for years. furthermore, for 10 months, under this governement, there was no building in the settlements just to bring abbas to the negotiation table. abbas wasted 9 of them and before he even started to negotiate he requested another settlement freeze. then he decided to forgo the olso and move to the un for official recognition. our european friends voted against israel, or abstained in the best case. none of these steps promoted peace. now, they make a big issue out of e-1 knowning full well that there is still plenty of space between jerusalem and maaleh adumim to build a contiguous 'palestinian' state. not viable, of course, thanks to the culture of its inhabitants, but contiguous. how is that can be viewed as a sign of friendship, i don't know. apparently carlo does and so do the remaining 5 meretz voters. but what in this story contradicts the standards of the free world, even he doesn't know. otherwise, why to add to this mix the 'social justice model'...
