of course the people of japan are panicked. i just talked to my family in tokyo, and they are full of anxiety. thank said, it is a part of japanese culture to down-play weakness and drama (unlike, say...our western counterparts hehe). calmness is so embedded in japanese culture, and to outsiders it may appear almost cool and rather apathetic. but trust me, its not so simple.
