You criticize Obama for not being strong and appearing weak and attribute this to a choice Obama has made presumably just because he feels like it. But it is the USA which is relatively weaker now than it was prior to the American war of choice in Iraq. The soft underbelly of American military might is the ordinary soldier and their families, the military families of the US who bear the brunt of ill advised American foreign policy. I have no doubt if the USA was directly hit, if another Pearl Harbour took place, Americans would once again fight to the bitter end but endless wars in the ME for no strategic benefit are another thing. Add into that America's growing debt problem and Obama's prudence in military matters makes sense. Even though it might give a momentarily flush of power, looking tough and revving up the engine at lights is pretty stupid if there is not enough fuel in the tank to win the race.
