Arabs don't believe him—the Jews don't believe him, it's time for the Palestinians and the Israelis to figure this thing out by themselves. Obama's hubris is matched by his total naiveté and is driven by his political wet dreams for immortality—typical for a craven politician. Having spent quite a bit of time in Lebanon and Israel, and having made many Palestinian friends, I know that there are many very talented young women and men who will able to help build their new country and who want to free themselves of the tyrannical nightmare of an older generation that is mired in the moribund mind set of the so-called revolutionary politics of Fatah and Hamas. If Obama wants to do the world a favor let him address the issue of a rouge Iran along with his lunatic vision of quashing the Taliban in Poppystan. Of course he can't do either, but at least step away from the Israeli--Palestinian conundrum, and let someone else who knows what they are actually doing and give a real helping hand.

Pollard’s release feels like a consolation prize

The fact that the convicted spy's release is happening at such a low moment in U.S.-Israel ties casts a pall over the news.
