Funny how Obama says one thing which makes the Palestinians then make it their new demand and then suddenly backtracks a few days later. If he wanted to say the 1967 borders should be used a starting point but that all the settlements since 1967 had to be taken into consideration as a fait accompli that was not going to change and that were going to be part of permanent borders of Israel (as both Bush and Clinton said when they were in office) then why did he address the world last week and make everyone, including the Palestinians believe they would have all pre 1967 borders?? Either state what you believe and stick with it or keep quiet because all you are doing is raising the expectations of one side falsely, and then angering both sides and making it impossible for them to sit down and seriously negotiate.
