In the early days of Obama's presidency he criticized settlements and called for a temporary freeze on settlement expansion. A year later he vetoed an important UN resolution criticizing settlements. Over the course of a brief time, Obama has expressed to opposite and extreme positions on settlements, first criticizing them and then suppressing the criticism of others. Where does Obama stand today on the topic of settlements? Nobody really knows since he has long since stopped mentioning settlements. America's long time position is two states for two peoples. Where is Obama on that issue? He never mentions that anymore either. Obama's style of leadership seems to be that of leadership by anonymous committee. Such arrangements make it difficult to express a coherent opinion.
