After 43 years of occupation, what, exactly, is a "premature" end to the conflict. If one people rules over another without their consent, no matter that situation came about, and hasn't resolved the issue in 43 years, even with overwhelming military, economic and diplomatic resources, then the only conclusion is that the rulers simply do not want to resolve the issue. If Israel had truly wanted peace with the Palestinians, it would have found a way to do so by now. The israeli people, collectively and through a democratic process, have decided that settlements are preferable to peace and will have to live with the consequences. In 10 years there will not be an Israel. Impossible? Did you ever think you'd live in a world without a Soviet Union?
