The Middle East is too volatile a place to worry what might happen in 5-10 years time. If Israel could be just a little more shrewd, and a little less neurotic, she might just be able to see that nuclear power stations are a legitimate, universal alternative to oil and coal-burning power-stations, and Iran just might have satisfied her national ego, for now, in joining the exclusive 'nuclear power' club. In any case, the only real defense Israel has against an Iranian nuclear attack is the certain knowledge that should Iran dare to fire nuclear-tipped missiles at Israel, several Iranian cities and infrastructure installations would be incinerated, and made uninhabitable for many many years. Our survival depends on Iranian leaders being sane enough not to want to send their country back to the Stone Age. Can we not reasonably assume that they don't??
