The night of 8 October 1973 the decision was made to put Israel's nuclear capability on alert. This involved F-4s at Tel Nof and Jericho missiles at Hirbat Zacharia. The motive was the depletion of forces on the Golan and the alert was maintained until 11 October when the threat of Syrian forces pouring off the Golan Heights and into Israel ceased. Israel might have used it's nuclear capability to destroy attacking Syrian troops, but I have seen no evidence that there was intent to use those weapons against Arab population centers.
