When I was a kid in Israel, we entertained ourselves with coming up with imaginary examples of "the peak of Hutzpa", such as ringing a door bell in the middle of the night and asking for directions to a bus station. Now I think that Barak has finally nailed it down, real well. Not only is Israel refusing US suggestions to reduce the conflict, even by agreeing to stop settlement construction for even THREE miserable months, but now expect the US to pay extra for Israeli fears of Arab democratization process because of the hatred towards Israel still brewing due to Israeli rejectionism. Needless to remind ourselves: The US is broke, while Israel's economy is doing well, and on top of that the recent gas finds were dedicated by Netanyahu to paying off the past national debt. But who is thinking about present US debt, which will only grow if $20 billion more are spent to maintain Netanyahu's rejectionism?
