People love their comfort zones, even if those comfort zones appear to be irrational, neurotic, crazy etc.. Bibi as Prime Minister of Israel enables everyone to stay in their comfort zones. Granted, perfectionizing idealists, intellectuals, romantics, and zealots are displeased, but there are so many of them clamoring for attention and pulling potential true believers in so many different directions, they cannot launch successful campaigns in Western Democracies. Learn from the Tea Party movement in the USA instead of demonizing it. It has kept the glue of its message to the barest minimum and continually tries to damp down extremism which is so off putting to so many. Radical transformative ideologies will never be as appealing as restorative messages especially when the latter are simple and accessible (that's right, like Glenn Beck).. But we Jews don't particularly prize what is simple and accessible; rather, we luxuriate in unraveling mysteries. And isn't the quest for resolving the Arab Israeli conflict perceived by most people as unraveling a mystery within an enigma? As we head into the future, more and more will Zionist doves be seen as Don Quixote's jousting with windmills, whilst the real political verities of balance of power and self interest continue to hold sway.
