On Nov 30 1947 the UN Mandated TWO States- NOT one. There was the State of Israel AND the State of Palestine. On Nov 30 1947 The State of Palestine was composed of the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. We all know what happened after that. All the Arab armies and the Palestinian militia attacked Israel. Israel survived. The only land lost was by Israel. But in 1949 the armistice led to the Green Line. There was no occupation in 1949. But over the next 18 yrs the Arabs taunted and attacked Israelis whenever possible. Finally in 1967 enough was enough. After the ensuing war Israel did retain land and built it up. So anything Abbas is willing to do now cannot be on all the original parts. Too much time has passed. Too much changed and the Palestinians need to acknowledge that. The Palestinian state will be ....but not as it was in Nov 1947. Too late. That ship has sailed.
