Corinne Mellul is a subtle observer and an intelligent commentator, though, this time this time it seems she has overlooked some very basic facts: a. That Ambassador Bar-Navi was forced to submit an official complaint against Nouvel Observateur, its biased reporting against Israel, and it's Blood-Libel - the most Satanic attempt ever done to incriminate IDF soldiers - claiming Palestinian Women are deliberately raped, to have them murdered by their relatives on the grounds of 'family honor'. Blood-Libels against Jews are non-news, only this one is the first in history being perpetrated by Jews… Therefore, Nouvel Observateur is Not being perceived as a reliable source of information, to say the least… b. The State of Israel has been founded to provide a refuge to Jews should they feel persecuted or unprotected. I believe that such a reminder, in the presence of the President of France, was the right thing to do, at the right time and the right place. Israelis have been facing the hardships of survival struggle already over a century, and regrettably not always may afford to please and appease every " Nouvel-Liberal " among themselves, let alone the Europeans. Although misunderstandings may happen, and there might be some mutual disappointments, we have not given up on Europe, and do find real interest in the changes taking place there. I wish Corinne Mellul could share with us some more of her analysis skills regarding the serious changes France and Europe are undergoing through, politically, economically, socially and culturally, and the options to meet the challenges.
