Not for the Catholics nor for the Jews nor anyone else. Canonization is no more than an ultra-solemn declaration that the Subject is in heaven (wherever, whatever that is). If the Subject is in heaven, canonization does him/her no extra favours. If the Subject isn't in heaven, then canonization effects nothing except an illusion. Forget it - life's much more interesting.
