Nelson is a former insurance commissioner. Obama is a lawyer. There is no VALID reason not to introduce the legislation. I could even be introduced at the state level where Allianz and the other insurers are licensed. The records exist and should be available for inspection as a condition of renewal of the companies' licenses. There is even model legislation to pattern a bill after. The (US) National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has already drafted it. No need to use Congressional time where everything that might benefit any individual person who is not a corporation will be stonewalled by Republicans.
