I'm not surprised about this at all. It takes courage to look beyond justified reasons for dislike/hatred--and yet--offer a rational suggestion/be rational. Often when I discuss this issue, and am at my limit with the racism, arrogance, disrespect denials and/or outright lies spoken by Jews against Palestinians...it is A PALESTINIAN that calms me down. I had heard so much from Jews about how Palestinians are irrational, barbaric and backwards...and from personal experience...I know this is not true. Mr. Nusseibeh is again proof of this. Even though this is to "his" benefit, he could have taken a different/irrational position. ...Oppression/hatred will do this to a person/a people. I'm proud of him for presenting this also true/real side of the Palestinian people--grace, character, strength and integrity--UNDER OCCUPATION! Something Israel/others want us to believe doesn't exist--at least not when it comes to them. Bravo Mr. Nusseibeh!
