First, Israel has a lot more power in this game. Shraga Brosh may make good. The damage will be disproportional. Second, it is an expensive game. Trade restrictions (no buy, no sell, no work) are expensive and destroy wealth in the form of lower wages, profits and more expensive goods. Disruption of trade between the WB Palestinians and their biggest trade partners (trade with Israel proper will doubtless suffer also) will come at a massive price. This cost, while possibly a goo pressure tactic undermines Fayaad's overall strategy, building an as-good-as-he-can Palestinian semi-state including a decent economy.
