It is not strictly true that this government was elected by the Israeli people. It could have been very different if the head of Kedima, Zippi Livni, who gained the most seats in the election had been asked to form the government. It's possible that Kedima + Labour + Part of the Likud (if not all) could have formed a stable government and left the extreme right where they belong - in the opposition. Our election system created this dreadful government and since I didn't vote for any of the parties now in control, I don't feel responsible for the result. Btw, it isn't a secret that even this right wing government has encouraged the growth of the Palestinian entity on the West Bank which is enjoying growing prosperity and more freedom. I think that a lot of Palestinians living in Arab countries would be happy to live under such condiitions.
