Maybe it's futile to make the point -- but newspapers contribute to these atrocities when they misname them. These were not "clashes." They were deliberate and deadly attacks on unarmed civilians, particularly on children. To compare the symbolic stone-throwing -- which scarcely made the police bat an eyelash -- with the deliberate murder of children (for protesting the theft of their land) is to minimize the crime; and that makes the chroniclers responsible in some degree for all that follows.
