Not only is it a question of ever smaller categories of Palestinians destined to live in Palestine, whether from the dispora, the West Bank (excluding Jerusalem) and then Gaza. A small population indeed. But so too is the territory itself that has been wrung out and squeezed by Israel's policy of colonisation. Is Fayyad now speaking about the little "palistans" that olmert and Israel are proposing, a land sliced up like a tomato, interspersed with the large colonies and their infrastructure?
