The legal boundaries of a Palestinian state remain what they always have been: the borders set out in the 1947 UN proclamation that Israel accepted. So to recognize the pre-1967 cease fire line as the border is to concede a great deal in advance. If the 1967 lines are accepted, those will be the starting point for negotiations -- and we all know what will happen. So recognize the 1947 lines -- which are the only ones with any legal foundation -- and negotiate from there. Let Israel explain why she's entitled to more than half of Palestine -- not why she's entitled to more than 4/5ths of it.
