If any action were to be taken through the use of commando's, it should not have happened in international waters. They could have waited till the ship was just a few miles off Israeli waters. It was a reasonable distance out in sea. This was clearly an unprovoked attack on a ship in International Waters. And why would passengers or crew members on a ship not try and defend themselves or get aggressive if individuals are trying to forcibly board their vessel. The Israel' commandos were trespassing, hence it is not surprising, passengers and crew members felt obliged to show some resistance.
