Many of us in the US will always consider ourselves friends of Israel and will want the best for Israel but we are seeing things which not many Americans can agree with. Eventhough there are strong currents of anti muslim feelings in the US there are stronger and longer and more deeply rooted beliefs in equality and democracy. This leads to what I see as a paradox in our country that while the Israeli culture is moving towards an Apartheid state we don't want to give up our support of Israel - so we won't overtly do it - not right now - but we are looking for the time when we can walk away from very open, very vocal, and very expesive support of Israel. So you probably think it anti semitic that I view Lieberman, the Shas party, rabbi Shapira, and Ariel Attias as racists.....Sorry but this isn't the crowd Americans really can appreciate or support.
