The border along the northern half of Samaria (about a third of West Bank border) was adjusted after the cease fire to give Israel additional territory, using strategic thinking. As far as borders acquired by war, military conquests depend on topography too, so this is not random. In any case, the "1967 borders" would allow exchange of territory, but on a 1:1 ratio.
