Not all christians support Intelligent Design. Catholic schools here teach evolution in science classes without mentioning ID or "scientific creationism." ID is the property of fundamentalist Protestants. ID is indeed absurd, along with many of the political beliefs of the Protestant right. They also argue the USA is an officially christian nation, that the patriots who fought the Brits did so for the 10 Commandments (their version, of course), that the Founding Fathers of the USA wanted the Protestant bible as the governing document of our country, but atheist secularists hijacked the Constitutional Convention...and that US foriegn policy in y'all's neck fo the woods should focus on triggering Armageddon to hasten the 2d coming and the Rapture. If I were an Israeli, I'd think real hard about sucking up to these nuts. If you think nukes in the hands of the Iranian mullahs is scary, just think about nukes in the hands of the not-too-Rev. Pat Robertson.
