    Twelve killed by Israeli forces in less than 24 hours? a press release on Wednesday stating that Israeli forces escalated their attacks against the Palestinian residents, and killed 12 Palestinians, including two children, in less than 24 hours in the Gaza Strip. Field investigation carried by the center revealed that soldiers killed six Palestinians east of Al Boreij refugee camp, in the Gaza Strip, on Monday evening August 20, after air-striking a vehicle driving in a crowded street. On Tuesday, August 21, soldiers fired shells at Palestinian youth who gathered 500 meters away from the border fence in Al Qarara, north of Kahn Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip; three residents were killed and several others were injured. On Tuesday evening, soldiers fired a missile which exploded near a secondary agricultural school in Beit Hanoun. Two children, aged 11 and 12 were killed in the attack. The two were identified as Fadi Mansour Al Kafarna, 11, and Abdul-Qader Yousef Ashour, 12. One child was moderately injured. On Wednesday morning, August 22, soldiers fired a missile which landed and detonated near an open area in Sheikh Zayed area, north of Gaza city. Earlier on Wednesday at dawn, soldiers fired one missile at youth who gathered near the eastern area of Al Shujaeyya neighborhood in Gaza; one youth was killed. The military assaults, documented by the center, also targeted Palestinian fishermen and fishing boats on Wednesday morning, and the Israeli marines kidnapped residents in the Rafah shore, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Three of the eight kidnapped residents are children.
